Noeliesha Young

Junior Project Advisor

Noeliesha is a Darwin Aboriginal woman, as a descendent of the Stolen Generations with bloodline connections to the Gurindji, Woolwonga, Marathiel, Gudanji and Luritja peoples of the Northern Territory. She is the eldest of 13 children and is a proud single mother of two beautiful children.

Noeliesha is the co-founder of the Darwin Youth Suicide Prevention network, with a mission to amplify the voices of young people bereaved and impacted by suicide. She completed her certificate III in Community Services in 2020 and in 2022 Noeliesha was employed by Fast NT, as a Parent Partner in the Baby Fast program, providing support and encouraging parents to engage in healthy play activities.

Passionate when it comes to supporting families in hardship situations, Noeliesha often draws on her lived experiences of being a young single mum trying to navigate the systems to gain knowledge and support to provide the best outcomes for her little family and community. She lives by the quote ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, reflecting on her own upbringing within her kinship system.
