Dr Jennifer Weber joins the Brave Village as Consultant for National Project

Brave Foundation welcomes Jennifer Weber PhD to the team as a Project Consultant. With extensive experience in public policy and program development, Dr Weber brings a wealth of expertise to a new initiative at Brave focused on ensuring safer, stronger outcomes for young parents and their children.

With over 30 years of leadership across the not-for-profit, government and university sectors, Dr Weber is an experienced executive specialising in the first 1000 days of life. Her deep commitment to advancing the interests and needs of at-risk and vulnerable women and their children aligns closely with Brave’s vision of a future where every young parent and their child thrives and belongs.

Dr Weber will be part of a project team within Brave delivering an important new initiative ‘From Conversation to Change: A National Response to Pre-birth & Infant Safety Reports’. This national multi-year project is focused on improving outcomes for young parents and their children by strengthening early supports and reducing the need for child protection intervention. Despite the scale of this issue, fragmented early intervention strategies and inconsistent data have left many families without the support they need.

The project will bring together young parents, alongside leading practitioners, policy makers and researchers. A national symposium will platform, facilitate and share key insights, research and practice innovations specifically discussing pre-birth and infant safety reports.

Brave CEO Jill Roche acknowledged Dr Weber’s expertise and her generosity in sharing it with Brave.

“Jennifer is a welcome and exciting addition to the Brave Village, and we are delighted to have her dedicate her time and expertise to partner on this special project,” she said.

“Brave has witnessed the intergenerational impact on families when young parents are well supported early and appropriately in their pregnancy or parenting journey. This is a critical moment to shape how we support young families and to advocate for change that improves long-term wellbeing.”

“I am thrilled to be working with Brave on this life changing project,” Dr Weber added. “By listening to those with lived experience and working collaboratively across sectors, we can build a future where every young parent and their child is safe and supported.”

This initiative marks a significant step forward in Brave’s Vision 2030 strategy, reinforcing its role as a national leader in advocating for young parents and driving enduring change across the systems that support them. The insights and outcomes of the project will be shared widely to inform policy and practice across jurisdictions, with the ultimate goal of ensuring all young parents have access to the support they need to thrive.
